Mitsubishi Transforms Small Town Into EV Town

Normal, Illinois looks like many other towns across the corn belt. Quiet and somewhat picturesque. Nothing out of the ordinary. That is until you notice the 30 electric charging stations scattered about town.

Mitsubishi installed the charging stations in an effort to boost sales of its new all electric i vehicle. The initiative, called EV Town, is receiving local support from businesses and government officials alike. The area has been hit by the recession like many towns in the U.S., but hopes are high that the initiative will give the region a shot in the arm.

With the economy the way it is, the Mitsubishi i could be an affordable alternative transportation option. The vehicle retails close to the $20,000 mark, allowing for a wide variety of credit scores to purchase one. Even those needing an auto loan with no credit could find financing if they have the right down payment. Here's to Mitsubishi and their Normal partners.
